π Booking Policy
Eligibility
- Riders must be at least 18 years
old and hold a valid motorcycle driving licence.
- Foreign nationals must carry a valid
International Driving Permit (IDP), their home country licence, passport, and
visa.
- Learner licences are not
accepted.
- A minimum of 6 months of riding
experience is required for high-altitude Himalayan routes.
Required Documents
- Valid driving licence (original, with
motorcycle endorsement)
- Government-issued photo ID β Aadhaar Card,
PAN Card, Voter ID, or Passport
- 2 passport-sized photographs (for Inner Line
Permits, where applicable)
- Foreign nationals: Passport + Visa
(original)
Payment Terms
- A 30% advance is required
at the time of booking confirmation.
- The remaining balance + security deposit
must be paid before vehicle handover.
- Payment modes accepted: UPI, bank transfer,
cash, and major cards.
- Booking is confirmed only after both payment
and document verification are complete.
Cancellation & Refund
- 15+ days before pickup: 90%
refund of advance amount
- 7β14 days before pickup:
50% refund of advance amount
- 3β6 days before pickup: 25%
refund of advance amount
- Less than 72 hours /
no-show: No refund
- If NH-1 Expeditions cancels due to unforeseen
circumstances (weather, road closures), a full refund or rescheduling will be
offered.
Rental Period & Late Returns
- Rental period is calculated as
24-hour blocks from the time of pickup.
- A 2-hour grace period is
allowed for late returns.
- Beyond 2 hours, a full additional
day's rental will be charged.
- Extensions are possible with 48
hours' advance notice, subject to availability.
Fuel Policy
- Fuel is not included in the
rental price.
- The bike will be handed over with a
full tank. Return with the same fuel level, or refuelling charges apply.
π‘οΈ Damage & Liability Policy
Security Deposit
- A refundable security deposit of
βΉ10,000 β βΉ25,000 is collected before handover, depending on the motorcycle
model.
- The deposit is refunded in full upon return
of the bike in the same condition as received, with no outstanding charges.
- Refund is processed within 3β5
business days via the original payment method.
Pre-Ride Inspection
- A joint vehicle inspection
is conducted before handover. All existing scratches, dents, or marks are documented with
photographs.
- We strongly recommend riders take their own
photos/videos of the bike before departure.
- The same inspection is repeated at return.
Minor Damages (Below βΉ5,000)
- Minor scratches, scuffs, or cosmetic damage
below βΉ5,000 will be deducted from the security deposit.
- Normal wear and tear from riding conditions
(e.g., dusty paint) is not charged.
Major Damages & Accidents
- The rider is responsible for all
repair costs resulting from damage, misuse, negligence, or accidents during the
rental period.
- Downtime charges apply β
daily rental fees for the period the bike is unavailable due to repairs.
- Repairs will only be carried out by
NH-1 Expeditions authorized mechanics. Unauthorized repairs void the deposit refund.
- In case of a major accident, the rider must
inform NH-1 Expeditions immediately and cooperate with the insurance process.
Theft or Total Loss
- In the event of theft or total loss, the
rider is liable for the depreciated value of the motorcycle, including
registration and insurance costs.
- An FIR (police report) must
be filed within 24 hours and a copy handed to NH-1 Expeditions.
- Daily rental tariff may apply for an
additional 30-day period while the claim is processed.
Insurance
- All NH-1 Expeditions bikes carry mandatory
third-party insurance as required by Indian law.
- This does not cover personal injury
or damage to the rented motorcycle.
- We strongly recommend riders carry their own
personal travel insurance covering medical emergencies and accidents.
β οΈ Usage & Safety Policy
- Motorcycles are rented for personal
use only β commercial use, racing, and stunt riding are strictly prohibited.
- Riding under the influence of
alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate rental
termination without refund.
- Helmet use is mandatory at
all times. Quality helmets are provided with every rental.
- The rider is solely responsible for all
traffic violations and fines incurred during the rental period.
- No unauthorized
modifications are permitted on the motorcycle.
- Any mechanical issues must be
reported immediately to NH-1 Expeditions. Do not attempt repairs independently.
- Taking the bike outside Himachal
Pradesh or into restricted areas without prior permission is not allowed.
- Pillion riders are allowed but must also
wear a helmet. The rental agreement covers one primary rider only.
